Hi friends,Our first days were great and the weather too (+ 34 C)The idea of the wishing basket was - the first graders( new students that come to school after the kindegarten) put their paper toys into the basket that means "Goodbye Childhood" and they guessed at the future (dream about smth, wish for smth)The basket went into the sky with their dreams.
Love the pictures of your first day of school. Thank you for sharing.
Hope you are settling into your new school year! Greetings from Australia!Wallsend Superstars, Australiahttp://2010wallsendsuperstars.edublogs.org/
I loved the way that you put a caption with each of the pictures, as a teacher I am always interested in learning new things and ideas and I had no ideas about some of the traditions. I think rolling out of the Red Carpet for visitors and reading poems from new students would be my favourite things that I found the most interesting.Mr Webb and Room 8, Melville Intermediate, Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand.
