I think it's really neat that you guys take the first day of school so serious. In most schools we don't take the time to realize that the first day of school really is important. It's the first day of a new year!!!

We don't take the first day of school as a celebration like you. Most kids wish that they were back home in bed at our school on the first day.

That is awesome! I came up with an idea for our school. Kids should take turns doing the announcements over the intercom.

What a great way to start the school year! In our school, the kids come with all their supplies and nervously greet their new teacher. The first day is only a half day with the students leaving before lunch. This doesn't leave us much time so we quickly introduce ourselves and discuss some of the classroom rules and expectations! - Mr.Lund

Hello Miss Tarasevich and the students of Abanskaya School. We started school August 28 but I must admit that we did not honor the first day as you did. I will however show these photos to my fellow teachers as I think you have demonstrated how the first day should be celebrated.

We are looking forward to once again working with you on projects throughout the year.

Thanks for your comments!
My students are happy to have so much attention from you to the events of our school. Now we are working with a video of this day. So you will have an opportunity to learn more about the Day of Knowledge in our country.

Hello friends,
We're glad to see you back at school again so we can do some more learning with you. I love the way you celebrate the first day of school.
We have been practising some Russian words using your video to help us. Cheburashka is happy and we showed him to Mr Greenberg and the Brainwaves when we did a video conference with them last week.
Best wishes,
Miss Knight and the Livewires

This is Talia from Canada Ottawa Stittsville. I think it is a great idea to give your teacher flowers on the first day of school because it will make the teachers feel good. If you want to talk go to mrtoft.ca
